fat tuesday

well, today is fat tuesday, a.k.a. mardi gras. not only does that mean that there will be serious partying going on, it also means that it is the beginning of lent. now, typically, in the past, i have not given anything up for lent - as shameful as it might sound. but, i have decided that this year i will give up the delightful practice of adding salt to my food. that's right; i will not be salting my food until easter day. **sigh**

while this might not seem like much of a sacrifice to some of you, let me assure you that it is to me. granted, it's not the passion, but it is a small, symbolic gesture. i will keep you posted on my progress. here's to one last night of water retention!
